The visit was part of a staff mobility activity of the International Hellenic University for training under the <strong data-start=\"530\" data-end=\"572\">Erasmus+ Programme (KA103) (2022\u20132023)<\/strong>.\u00a0During her visit, Dr. Tympa had the opportunity to exchange good educational practices, engage with faculty and researchers from the host institution and other visiting European universities, and expand the university\u2019s network of academic collaborations\u2014thus actively contributing to the international outreach of her department and institution.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"82\"><strong>September 26\u201330, 2023 (Universidad del Atl\u00e1ntico Medio, Canary Islands, Spain)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"84\" data-end=\"342\">Assistant Professor and Erasmus Departmental Coordinator of the Department of Early Childhood Education and Care, Eleni Tympa, participated in the International Week organized by Universidad del Atl\u00e1ntico Medio, held in the Canary Islands, Spain.\u00a0The International Week took place from September 26 to 30, 2023, as part of a staff mobility activity of the International Hellenic University for teaching and training under the Erasmus+ Programme (KA103) (2022\u20132023).\u00a0During the International Week, Ms. Tympa presented the University and the Department, including the courses offered to incoming Erasmus students, to all invited professors from other universities. On the following day, she delivered a lecture to visiting professors and both undergraduate and postgraduate students titled:<br data-start=\"910\" data-end=\"913\" \/>&#8220;Children\u2019s Vocabulary Development through the &#8216;Let\u2019s Play &amp; Talk&#8217; Intervention.&#8221;\u00a0She also had the opportunity to connect with faculty members from other departments abroad, as well as Erasmus coordinators from various European universities. Through these exchanges and new agreements, she actively contributed to the international outreach and networking efforts of her Department.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>        <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/erasmus2.jpeg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>        <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/erasmus3.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"67\"><strong data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"67\">April 15\u201319, 2024 (UiT The Arctic University of Norway, Troms\u00f8)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"69\" data-end=\"390\">The Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP) member of the Department of Early Childhood Education and Care, Eleni Zisopoulou, attended courses and activities at the Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Teacher Education \/ Department of Education at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, in Troms\u00f8, Norway.\u00a0The training took place from April 15 to 19, 2024, as part of the Outdoor Education courses offered by UiT. The visit was carried out under a staff mobility activity of the International Hellenic University for training purposes, within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme (KA103) (2023\u20132024).\u00a0During her visit, Ms. Zisopoulou had the opportunity to attend classes and activities both at the university and at local early childhood centers. He taught in both bilingual and monolingual kindergarten settings, gaining firsthand experience in the implementation of multilingual pedagogy.\u00a0A highlight of the visit was his series of lectures, which focused on topics such as:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"710\" data-end=\"915\">\n<li data-start=\"710\" data-end=\"761\">\n<p data-start=\"712\" data-end=\"761\">The pedagogical dimensions data-end=\"856\">\n<p data-start=\"813\" data-end=\"856\">Empathy, inclusion, and language learning<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"857\" data-end=\"915\">\n<p data-start=\"859\" data-end=\"915\">Bridging theory and practice in early childhood pedagogy<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"917\" data-end=\"1062\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">His participation Week<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"65\" data-end=\"336\">As part of the <strong data-start=\"80\" data-end=\"125\">International Erasmus Staff Mobility Week<\/strong>, organized by the <strong data-start=\"144\" data-end=\"181\">International Hellenic University<\/strong>, the <strong data-start=\"187\" data-end=\"239\">Department of Early Childhood Education and Care<\/strong> had the honor of hosting <strong data-start=\"265\" data-end=\"317\">academic staff from Europe and the United States<\/strong> at its facilities.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"338\" data-end=\"608\">Throughout their visit, participants engaged in meaningful discussions on key issues related to the <strong data-start=\"438\" data-end=\"495\">internationalization of higher education institutions<\/strong>, as well as the <strong data-start=\"512\" data-end=\"554\">development of research collaborations<\/strong> and broader academic partnerships among universities.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"610\" data-end=\"813\">Mrs. <strong data-start=\"614\" data-end=\"633\">Maria Polymerou<\/strong>, lecturer of the course <em data-start=\"658\" data-end=\"679\">English Terminology<\/em>, prepared an <strong data-start=\"693\" data-end=\"717\">interactive activity<\/strong> together with her students, combining <strong data-start=\"756\" data-end=\"777\">language learning<\/strong> with elements of <strong data-start=\"795\" data-end=\"812\">Greek culture<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"815\" data-end=\"1043\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">In addition, <strong data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"870\">Assistant Professor Isaak Papadopoulos<\/strong> gave a presentation to the international guests, introducing the <strong data-start=\"936\" data-end=\"966\">identity of the Department<\/strong> and outlining the <strong data-start=\"985\" data-end=\"1010\">structure and content<\/strong> of its undergraduate curriculum.<\/p>\n<p Metropolia University, Helsinki<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"55\" data-end=\"280\">A group of <strong data-start=\"66\" data-end=\"81\">10 students<\/strong> from our <strong data-start=\"91\" data-end=\"143\">Department of Early Childhood Education and Care<\/strong> had the opportunity to participate in a <strong data-start=\"184\" data-end=\"215\">short-term Erasmus mobility<\/strong> program at <strong data-start=\"227\" data-end=\"252\">Metropolia University<\/strong> in <strong data-start=\"256\" data-end=\"277\">Helsinki, Finland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"282\" data-end=\"521\">This was a <strong data-start=\"293\" data-end=\"320\">truly unique experience<\/strong>\u2014a life-changing opportunity not only for the students but also for the accompanying faculty members.
