Specifically, it includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(a) twenty-six (26) courses that are Compulsory (C), twenty-nine (29) that are Elective Compulsory (EC), twenty-three (23) Elective Compulsory Seminars (with mandatory attendance) thirty-one (31) Elective Compulsory Thesis Seminars (with mandatory attendance).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(b) the Thesis and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(c) the Internship \u2013 Applied Activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Compulsory Core Courses cover the subjects of all scientific areas of the Department, which are considered necessary for the scientific training of the students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The category of Compulsory Elective Courses consists of courses from all scientific disciplines offered by the Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Foreign Language module is included in the Core Compulsory Courses and in the Compulsory Elective Courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In particular, the structure of the courses by semester of study is presented in Table 1 below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Table 1. Specifically, both the Compulsory and the Compulsory Elective courses correspond to six (6) credits (ECTS) each, with the exception of the Internship which offers 24 credits (ECTS), the Research Seminars which offer 12 credits (ECTS) and the Thesis which is credited with 18 credits (ECTS). Each academic semester includes educational activities which are credited with 30 ECTS credits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Undergraduate Curriculum Courses<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Course Types<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Undergraduate Curriculum courses are classified into the following categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Courses of General Background:<\/strong> These courses build upon and expand high school knowledge and\/or serve as prerequisite courses required for the comprehension of other subjects. Although not directly related to the core scientific discipline of the program, they provide essential foundational knowledge, necessary for understanding specialized topics within the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Scientific Field Courses (of Specialized Background):<\/strong> These courses focus on subject areas that are directly aligned with the academic discipline of the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Skills Development Courses:<\/strong> These courses do not primarily aim at providing scientific knowledge within the field but rather focus on fostering and developing additional skills (e.g., courses in entrepreneurship, foreign languages, or practical training\/ internship).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">For further information on each subject, please follow the link <a href=\"https:\/\/ecec.ihu.gr\/wp-content\/uploads\/STUDY-GUIDE-2023-2024-FINAL-ENGLISH-VERSION-3-1-1.pdf\">here <\/a><\/mark><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Holidays<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the Winter and Spring semesters there are no classes or exams:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><u>A.
