EFI KARAMANE
Dr Efi Karamane (BA, M.Ed., PhD, Post-Doc) works as teaching and laboratory staff in the Department of Early Childhood Education and Care at the International Hellenic University. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Greek Philology and a Master’s Degree in Educational Sciences. Her doctoral thesis was conducted at the School of Philosophy and Education of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and concerned the teacher’s interpersonal behaviour in the classroom. In the context of her postdoctoral research she investigated issues related to emotional intelligence, self-efficacy and job satisfaction of preschool teachers. Efi has published several research papers in international, peer reviewed journals. She is the author of the book “Punishments and discipline in education: A timeless pedagogical issue”. She has participated in academic and professional national and international conferences. Efi has worked in a number of schools in Greece. She has conducted training seminars for kindergarten teachers and has participated in research projects. Her research interests span a wide range of subjects, including the interpersonal teacher-child relationship, peer relationships, teachers’ interpersonal behaviour, managing children’s behaviours, emotional intelligence and teacher self-efficacy. She reviews articles for two scholarly publications.
